Having taken on this post as a bit of an emergency during 2023 I have agreed tocarry on for another year. I would like to welcome you all, our current members and any non-members who are considering joining during the 2024 season.
This year after a ballot of all the members, the club will be introducing the BowlR System for booking and arranging all bowling activities. This may be a steep learning curve for most members, particularly some of the older members like myself, so I ask you all to try to help fellow members as much as possible who are not too confident learning the new system.
We have four administrators who have taken on the role of introducing us to the system and how to access it on our phone/tablets/laptops and I understand that nearly all members have now received the introductory session with the administrators. If you do have any difficulties you can contact one of them for help or any other member who knows what to do. Please show consideration to the bowls committee , the selectors and other club officials who are having to learn the system as well as all the membership. I am sure with goodwill on all sides, we will get through the seasons successfully.
The bowling fixtures list is again full and I ask all full members to support the activities on the green by putting your names down for as many matches, both league and friendly, to ensure we can meet all these commitments. If we fail to provide enough players, we could lose some of these matches next year. I am sure that we will get sufficient for club days so I have no need to mention these.
